Last fall we went on the Schooner Adirondack III . We disembarked from Rowes Warf and cruised along the Boston Harbor.

The description of the sail says within minutes you'll drift from the distractions of life on land, and truly, you do.

I enjoyed watching the crew open up those enormous flapping sails. Yes, it does take skill and strength, that's for sure. Then, once everything is tied and we're being steered in the right direction by our captain, the crew members offer drinks and blankets if needed. The captain points out different historic buildings, forts and shares some great stories and answers any questions you may have.

We brought some finger foods and just enjoyed the peaceful, quiet sail. I've had many ask me if the water was rough. No, we're in the harbor, so it's a smooth and gentle.
You never know what you'll see in Boston. We saw everything from a homemade motorboat to a small cruise ship passing by along with historical sites with great stories to go along with them.

I'm such a planner, finding things for everyone to be busy with and making sure everyone is having fun. This was not a "busy" thing to do, but it was a wonderful experience and the other couples we went with felt the same way! It was so nice to sit back and enjoy the moment and each other. I'd highly recommend this for anyone! We're planning on going with my my husband's sisters and their spouses and I hope to be able to take the kids at the end of the summer. It's an experience I'd really like to share with them all.
